Get real. If you’re going to treat the Bible like a cafeteria line, choose a verse that doesn’t condemn but offers love. Seriously, the message of Jesus is love love love, period, dot, the end. If more Christians would actually realize that, and not be so stubbornly and arrogantly repeating words that justify their personal shortcomings, maybe that message would get a chance to be heard.

Well put, Matthew. The difference clearly for these journalists is “being out” rather than “coming out” as a declaration. They were simply caught in the act of being honest and open about their lives. It’s an important non-event for journalists and audiences alike.
