Poynter Institute Training for NLGJA Members

Looking for some additional training to give your journalism career a jump start? Or perhaps you’d like a refresher course to brush up your skills. The Poynter Institute offers multiple ways to sharpen your journalistic talents, and NLJGA members can have access to all these resources.

The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation will be subsidizing training programs to promote diversity and boost under-represented groups in journalism.  As an NLGJA member, you can take part in this fantastic opportunity!  Free tuition can be just a few steps away – just click below to learn more, and see where your NLGJA membership can help take you.

The Poynter Institute provides training in multiple forms:

  • Seminars: Several days of onsite hands-on learning with Poynter faculty and industry professionals.
  • News University: Numerous short online courses for journalists of all levels.
  • Online Webinars: Live one-hour events led by Poynter faculty and industry Professionals.

When registering for training at the Poynter Institute, NewsU, Poynter Online or any regional training, simply request a scholarship and indicate the Knight-Poynter Fellowship and your membership with NLGJA to be eligible for a grant covering your training costs.
